Today started out super fun. I got to sleep in, and then go shopping. I hit up JCrew and Banana Republic (my two favorite stores EVER) for their Labor Day Weekend Sales.

I left with 3 sweaters, 5 shirts, a pair of shorts, and a new dress for right at $200.

You would think it was my lucky day right? Wrong. I left the mall and went to the bank to withdraw some cash. When I was pulling out of the ATM, I went to pull down my Ray-Bans from the top of my head and guess what was missing? Yep, I lost my most beloved materialistic item. My beautiful tortoise shell wayfarers. So after I spent all of my spending money, I know have to pull some more money out of my ass (excuse the language) to buy a new pair. I can’t drive without sunglasses, and my cheap pair just aren’t the same.
Breakfast was a blueberry smoothie. 1 cup frozen bluebs, 1 cup almond milk, 1 scoop vanilla protein powder, 1 container Chobani blueberry Greek yogurt. Blend until smooth
.
Repping The Gamecocks win from last night, of course.

It’s 6pm and that smoothie is all I’ve eaten all day which is totally unlike me. After the tears I shed over my Ray-bans (No, I’m not kidding I cried like a freakin baby) I think I deserve some Taco Dog, but before I head to dinner – here’s an update on my doctor’s appointment.
When I made the appointment, I made it for a sharp chest pain I get on the left side quite often, that worsened with exercise once. One time was enough, so decided to take a short break from heavy exercise until I could see my doctor. I also wanted to discuss the back pain I have been having in my upper middle back with my doctor.
Here’s the deal with my chest pains: They did an EEG which came back perfectly normal. The doctor listened to my hear and asked me some questions. Since he could tell I was pretty serious about the pain (It feels like a finger prick repeatedly over the left side of my chest just FYI) he scheduled me to have an ECHO done next Wednesday, which is an sonogram of my heart for anyone who is as clueless as I am about this stuff. He thinks I have something called Mitral Valve Prolapse (click the link for a description). It is a benign condition, and nothing to really worry about, but he won’t know for sure until he does the ECHO. He did give me the okay to run as much as I want, and do all the cardio I want. He encouraged it actually.
Now to the back pain. I have had a trigger point on my neck for a couple years now that refuses to go away and now have a new one next to my spine. He gave me valium to take as a muscle relaxer at night (Yes, a muscle relaxer – it’s not just a nerve pill haha) and has restricted me from any weight lifting, or any mat work that should affect my back. If it is not better with medicine and abstaining from specific strength training, I have to go back in a few weeks.
What does all this mean for bootcamp and other workouts? It definitely means cardio will be my main form of exercising – a lot of running and walking – and even some yoga. I’m still going to follow Tina’s plan as best as possible because I love it so much, but will definitely not be able to keep up with all of it. I will for sure keep everyone updated!
Happy Weekend!
