Boy, do I have a treat for you guys today! I knew before I went to bed last night that I wanted a smoothie for breakfast – a cherry chocolate smoothie to be exact. Before my froyo yesterday I stopped at the health food store and grabbed a couple individual packets of Spiru-tein protein powder. One packet I picked up was the Gold Chocolate flavor and Oh. Em. Gee. I am very picky with protein powders but this stuff is delicious and has lower calories than most protein powders. I highly recommend it!
So without further ado I give you….
Cherry Chocolate Protein Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 cup frozen cherries (pitted, of course)
1 cup milk of your choice (I used 2%)
1 packet (or scoop) chocolate protein powder
1 small container black cherry Greek yogurt
½ tbsp cocoa powder (I used Hershey’s Special Dark)
Directions:
Throw it all into your blender (I used my beloved Ninja) and blend for a minute or so until you have reach the consistency you desire.
I LOVED this smoothie! I forgot how well cherries and chocolate go together! For now, I’m giving this smoothie a number one spot in my book. I hope you guys enjoy!
